Order Tips and FAQs

Traveling with your order

  • Always carry your order by its base.

  • Place your order on a flat surface in your car. DO NOT place it on the front or back seats because they set at an angle. This is a guarantee for your order to shift and possible ruin your order.

  • Keep the area clear of other items around the placement of your order that could roll or fall onto it during the transport.

  • Turn the A/C on during the warmer months. Most cakes will be chilled at the time of pick-up. If there is a long travel involved, we can create an insulated box for an additional cost.

  • Do not leave you order in your car unless you know it is protected from the sun. It may be cold, but the sun can heat up a car in minutes!

  • Drive Carefully!! Give yourself plenty of room between cars. Sudden stops or rushed turns may cause your cakes to shift. If you can feel every bump on a road you travel regularly – you are driving with the right mind set!

About your Cake

  • Your cake may contain non-edible items to assist with decorations. These items include support straws (tiered cakes) toothpicks, skewers, wires, ribbon, non-toxic coloring, glitter and various embellishments. Be cautious when handling. Do not consume!

  • Fondant toppers: figurines, letters, numbers, etc.. maybe kept forever if you would like. Just keep them in a dry cool place.

Storing Your Order

  • If your event is not right away (2 days away):

  • Cakes/cupcakes should be refrigerated or stored in a cool location until the event date.

  • Cookies are good up to 2 weeks in the original sealed packaging. If it will be longer than 2 weeks, you may freeze them in an airtight container. Just note, decoration may alter when returning to room temperature due to condensation.

  • Cake Pops and Cakeballs should be stored in a cool location with no refrigeration. If it will be longer than 3 days, you may refrigerate/freeze them in an airtight container. Just note, condensation may occur and possibly alter the decoration when returning to room temperature.

  • Chocolate covered treats should be stored in a cool location with no refrigeration. If it will be longer than 7 days, you may want to freeze them in an airtight container. Just note, condensation may occur and possibly alter the decoration when returning to room temperature.

  • Keep your order away from direct heat sources (sun, windows, heater, stove, etc.). Your sweet treats will feel the heat and begin to melt. If your event is outside in warm/hot temps, bring the cake out when it is time to serve or keep in the shade with a fan blowing.

  • If your cake has a fondant covering, refrigeration doesn’t hurt; however, keep it in the delivery box to protect it from the moisture in the refrigerator. When the cake comes to room temperature, condensation will/may occur. DO NOT pat dry, let it air dry!!

Serving your cake

  • Cake is best served at room temperature.

  • To get the maximum servings, follow the provided cutting guide. If there is no guide, the best way to cut all cake shapes, is with horizontal and vertical lines.

FAQs

How soon should I place an order?

It's best to place your order as soon as you start planning the details of the event even if you don’t know all the details (theme, serving size, location, etc.…); the earlier the better, to ensure availability.  Detailed large custom orders, sculpted or multi-tiered cakes require at least 2-months’ notice. Simple, smaller orders can be ordered as late as 2 weeks in advance. To guarantee your date, place a non-refundable, non-transferable retainer of $25 to hold your date. (See Save the Date)
